Maria’s life journey so far has included a passion for learning and curiosity about the big question “How to live a good life?” This inspired her to study and work as a Naturopath, soaking up the good ideas of how to achieve mental, physical and emotional health.

This was followed by studying Public Health, and most recently Social Work.  These courses of study have informed her approach to life and work. Recent work experience has been focused in the alcohol and drug sector, providing psycho-education and supporting people with substance dependence as well as co-occurring mental ill health. This has led Maria to embrace the opportunity of working with people with psychosocial disabilities.

Maria’s approach to supporting you is informed by the Pyschosocial Disability Recovery Framework and the World Health Organisation’s definition of recovery; that a person is able to:

“regain control of their identity and life, have hope for their life, and live a life that has meaning for them whether that be through work, relationships, spirituality, community engagement or some or all of these.”

What drives Maria these days is the belief that living a good life is an individual journey that can be supported through education and empowerment, supporting people’s choices and aspirations with care and professionalism.
